A land snail is any of the numerous species of snail that live on land, as opposed to sea snails and freshwater snails.

Land snail is the common name for terrestrial gastropod mollusks that have shells (those without shells are known as slugs). A minority however belong to much more ancient lineages where their anatomy includes a gill and an operculum.

Groupers are fish of any of a number of genera in the subfamily Epinephelinae of the family Serranidae, in the order Perciformes.

Not all serranids are called groupers; the family also includes the sea basses.

This last pairing represented the androgynous couple.
